It turns out that 2012 is not just the year the Mayan apocalypse, but it is also the year that Make Watt chose to reunite fIREHOSE (coincidence... hmmm?). It’s been nearly 20 years since the band last played together, but the restorative powers of the Coachella Festival have brought them out of the misty past for a handful of US dates.... No further fIREHOSE road plans have been announced at this time, nor has it been revealed whether the reunion will continue beyond the April shows.... So, unless you have access to a time machine, THIS TOUR MAY BE YOUR ONLY SHOT TO SEE fIREHOSE AGAIN!!! "After D Boon's tragic death at age 27 signalled the end of the Minutemen... fIREHOSE continued in the Minutemen tradition of breathtaking musicianship combined with caustic lyrical fusillades inspired by the writing of the Beat Generation and the erect-middle-finger indignation of the Blank Generation... (They) recorded rock that was muscular, dense, and daring, along with being tremendously heartfelt... the quintessential post-punk 'peoples' band."... nearly all of their recorded work stands as some of the best late-'80s/early-'90s indie rock. - All Music Guide
The Monitors are made from vetrans of great now-deceased Tucson acts. Vikas from Nowhere Man, Morgan and Tommy from Ten Percenters have decided to embark on "a musical journey". Stealing ideas and sensibilities from bands like The Police, Pixies and The Minutemen. The chemistry clicked, and the songs started flowing. Write. Record. Repeat.

Some Of Them Are Old is a project based on experimental sound. Ideas evolve from drony delayed chords, slashing flashes of fuzz, and ambiguous vocal melodies - all mixed up in an attempt to create catchy creations of white noise.
"The Cordials -Laura Kepner-Adney on guitar, Cristina Williams on bass, and Courtney Robbins on drums - are the female trio for which Tucson has been subconsciously pining. Self-described as 'pepper pop surf grunge,' The Cordials draw from many styles, sounding like a merry blend of a spaghetti Western soundtrack and Best Coast. Kepner-Adney takes the lead with songwriting, and she has terrific sensibilities when it comes to catchy riffs and novel flourishes. Kepner-Adney and Williams harmonize beautifully—equal parts grace and grit, an exquisite blend that will leave your eyelashes a-flutter, and your toes tapping." - Tucson Weekly

Jeremy Lyon and Zak Mandel-Romann formed Tumbleweed Wanderers in March 2011. Sharing a mutual admiration of the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack, Marvin Gaye's Let's Get it On and Fleet Foxes Ragged Wood the two left college to pursue music full-time. They recruited keyboardist Patrick Glynn, who Zak had played with since he was ten, drummer Daniel Blum, who Jeremy met when he was sweeping the floors of a recording studio, and singer/banjo player/guitarist Rob Fidel, who Jeremy met at an open mic on the first day of college. Together, they've performed anywhere and everywhere from clubs to bars, cafes, house shows, and busking on the street. They will release their debut EP November 25th before embarking on a Southwest tour and recording demos for their debut LP.

"With a classic rockabilly style, and a course, gin-soaked voice, Arizona's Al Foul has just released a solo album. After one listen, you will be left swimming in images of crinoline and sideburns with a grin from start to finish. The One, The Only is an album with an unmistakable 50's flair, reminiscent of Elvis' glory days; but Al Foul has added his own style to bring in a distinctly modern feel..." - Left of the Dial "Al's rockabilly sound feels like it best suited as mood music for a good ol' white-trash bar. Maybe that explains that special thanks to Schlitz Beer in the liner notes... Al Foul and the Shakes are a cool sounding band, but are their songs too ridiculous? Like Pet Sounds, the Beatles' White Album, Led Zeppelin IV, and Back In Black, this is a landmark album in the annals of rock and roll. Or maybe not. - Agousti Music

Tucson Underground says, "Singer/guitarist Hank Topless revels in reptile-booted, over-the-top country singer fashion..." It is this fashion sense mirrored in the type of music Hank peddles: some of the best honky-tonk and classic country tunes ever penned and some damn-well written originals too. These odes are delivered with one of the sweetest country voices in Arizona, possibly the Southwest.
